Harry, we cannot reproduce this.

Can you please enable dev mode and refresh the website, then disable it again?

If the issue persists

Check your firebug console for any javascript errors while uploading the image.

Other times, when I am selecting directly from a photo in an album to set it as the profile picture, it brings up a floatbox but there is no photo displayed ( to crop), and clicking to continue indicates that a photo has not been selected.

Ross.
Have done so several times with no luck - refreshing and enabling dev mode.  Will try reinstalling the plugin etc. and check firebug.

When selecting change profile photo ( firebug):

GET /ow_static/plugins/base/js/avatar_change.js200 OK
103msjquery.min.js (line 6)

If a member goes into their photo album, selects a photo to set as the profile photo, the floatbox comes up as attached ( with no errors in firebug )

Harry, please enable debug mode check if there are any errors.

Check your error logs as well.

If you see any error in error log or after enabling debug mode paste the error here, as we could not reproduce the issue and you don't give details to your website.

No errors have been seen in the logs or in firebug.  Also to note when attempting to set a photo as the album cover I see this, attached.  I'll continue to break it down and get to the bottom of this.  Have enabled/disabled the plugin as well as a few related with no results.

My question would then be - is this a photo plugin issue or an avatar/core issue?  Checking them both.

Harry, have you updated the software or installed new one? If you updated, seems like it was not successfully completed, as you have reported so many issues with your database.

Changing avatar is avatar/core functional.

I recommend you to restore your back up and try to do the update again as we do not have access to your website and server and I can't help you much with this.

probably some files are missing or have not been overwritten, probably the database has not been updated.

I reinstalled the updates for the photo and avatar history plugins and that seemed to make a difference in Opera ( while firefox, chrome and safari are still suffering their fate.)

Changing the profile photo seems to work better now; it appears to depend on the image itself now.  But setting a photo as the album cover produces the same behavior as above, shows a black window,  blank.  This is true of existing photos;  I tested this on some newly updated photos and they worked just fine.  ??

Harry, i think there's no point of your posts. You just stating the issues.

As I noted earlier, we cannot reproduce any of the reported issues regarding avatars/changing avatars, photos etc. These are issue are individual and are only on your website. And I can't say what exactly is wrong until I look at the code and database.

When setting an album cover directly from the photo, it brings up the floatbox, and you can crop the photo as needed, but when you select 'Save' it's telling you to fill the form properly ( see attached ).  What else is there to fill?  lol.

I'd love to accommodate you on that request, Ross, but my host has strict requirements about not sharing that level of security with third parties.  So, it would seem, then, that I'll have to figure this out myself ( and of course share what I find when I fix it ).  Thanks again for your amazing support, Ross.
