I have picked up some lightweight code to add Smileys to chat. It works well externally and i'm sure I'll be able to add it if i can find where chat is processed. Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

Sam, could you please specify what chat you are talking about? Also, did you check out the Smileys plugin (http://www.oxwall.org/store/item/625)?
