Custom HTML widget NOT working after upgrade to 1.7.2[Solved] | Forum

After upgrading the core to 1.7.2. the custom HTML widget do NOT work. Tried in Internet Explorer and Chrome, so it's not a browser issue. When the the dialog box for the widget is open, it doesn't seem to have a code view to enter the html. I say this because I have 3 instances of it running embedded YouTube videos on my homepage and when I open them, the show the video and no code view.

When I open a new instance of the widget and try to paste code, it doesn't save. It just sits there. No timer, no nothing. This is a MAJOR issue since I use multiple instances of the Custom HTML widget throughout my site my site.

Also tested widget in Firefox and Opera browser too. Doesn't work at all. Doesn't except text or HTML. Doesn't save. Just a dead widget. Am I the only one experiencing this?

I figured it out. I also have the wysiwyg editor (Site CKEditor) and after disabling that plugin as well, the custom html widget now works. Either of these 2 plugins stop the custom html widget  from working. I didn't even realize I still had this outdated plugin installed. It does not support  latest versions. But, when I re-activate cool ckeditor, the custom html widget doesn't work.

I have the same Issue...

"Customize the Page"
"Custom HTML" and the save button doesn´t do anything.

I already deactivated the CKool Editor and I still have the problem.

Besides, in the comment in the newsfeed there is no one editor WYSIWYG. Why?

Where is the debug mode?
or what can I do?

As far as the "MySQL has gone away" error, I found that by deactivating all plug-ins, I was able update all plug-ins and the core almost without issue. There were a few individual issues but related to a specific plug-ins that the developers are resolving. The "MySQL has gone away" error has gone away.

Ulises, I would look to see if you have any plug-ins with editing capabilities or one by try disabling other plugins until the widget works.

After each change in the ow_includes directory is the config.php file. Open it and towards the bottom is the following:

    define('OW_DEBUG_MODE', false);    define('OW_DEV_MODE',false);    define('OW_PROFILER_ENABLE', false);
You'll see this twice. Change the values to "true" and save the file, then change them back to "false" and save again. That will refresh the system.

Hi Dominick.

I did what you said.
I did download the config.php file, opened, and change in the three line false by true, saved and ulpoaded, aupdated the filezilla, refresh the page, and then I did download the file, to change true by false. Saved and uploaded, updated filezilla, and refresh the page.

I still have the problem.

I deactivated both of the editor I have, Site CKEditor and Cool CKEditor,
I had both installed, and I hadn´t any issue

I did try with diferents ways, one or another, but only works without any of them.

I noticed that the dialog box of the custom html is bigger or larger, when doesn´t work.
I need to scroll the page searching the save button.

I will apreciate all your help.

Thanks.

You should uninstall the Site CKEditor. It's outdated and unsupported for current versions. Currently I have also uninstalled Cool CKEditor until the developer updates it. That's what I did. NOT just deactivate it, but completely uninstall it.

You don't have to download the config.php file to edit it. You can open in your control panel(assuming you have CPanel with your host). Select the file manager, navigate. to the config.php and right click on it and select edit. Make the changes to "true" and save, then back to "false" and save again.

Thanks Dominick. It´s a matter of use to. Buy you are absolutly right, I´ll try to update from the CPanel forward.

From now on, I unactivated both of the Editors until the provider updated them.
