I have used Joomla and Dolphin in the past. The only reason to pay $300 for Dolphin is to buy a license to remove the Dolphin attribution links. Dolphins "Trial download" is a fully functioning version with no time limits or other limitations.
The only difference between their trial version and the paid version is, the trial version you have to leave their attribution links in place (same as Oxwall) and when your in the admin panel you have to deal with nagging popups ever so often asking if your ready to buy a license yet. The paid version removes those nagging popups and also removes the attribution links.
However, the latest version of Dolphin cannot be used on most shared servers anymore, only versions prier to v.7 are allowed.
I know from experience that the support you get from Dolphin and Joomla is nothing compared to the free support that Oxwall has to offer.
Dolphin and Joomla have just as many problems/issues as Oxwall, the only difference is Oxwall will go out of their way most of the time to help its members, Joomla and Dolphin don't really operate like that.
Most of Dolphins 3rd party "plugins" are nothing more than some code modifications with instructions on how to edit the code, which will just get over written when you update, that's not what I consider to be a true plugin.
D Colton, for a $50 donation you can remove Oxwall's attribution link vs. paying $300 to accomplish the same thing with Dolphin, you should definitely stick with Oxwall.Patience is the key when asking for help on Oxwalls forum, they really do have some great support.
Even though Oxwall has limited documentation right now, if you took the time to go through the Plugin Development Crash Course and follow it step by step then study the Plugin Skeleton, you would have a much better understanding how Oxwall works.
You will not find it any easier trying to build a plugin or do some code modification with Dolphin or Joomla unless you take the time to learn about them, they all have their own way of doing things.
