It is very important to find out what is behind this 500 error.
You can find instructions on how to deal with 500 error at http://www.oxwall.org/forum/topic/4661 . This is not that difficult. And shouldn't mess up your site.

I have input the API ID and secret, but Facebook connect wont work for me, installed and uninstalled the plugin, came here to see that other people were having this issue to. Is there a reason why the plugin isnt working?

Sreekanth, try reinstalling FB plugin and setting it up again.
If you PM me your site URL and admin panel username and pass, I will be glad to set FB app for you using my testing credentials, just to check whether issue is in your APP's settings or within the plugin itself.

I am also getting the same issue Don't know why but I am Doing as per instruction.

Got the same problem as well. Won't use the correct details either.. I uninstalled the plugin, reinstalled and nothing. I deleted the FB app from facebook.com, created a new one and still getting the error with the new details. I have also made sure the app is LIVE.

Steven, provide screenshot of your FB app settings. 

This was requested by ross. FYI: I put http:// in the apps domain, saved it and FB put it to www only. This is not going to change. As for the other screenshots, they are the same as  Farsi's post right above my other one.

My issues was resolved by downloading the latest plugin from the Store: http://www.oxwall.org/store/item/27 - Just download, upload and then install again from the Installed Plugins page, look to the bottom and click Install for Facebook Connect. Once this is done, it'll show you a page that it has been updated, then requests to update the database details. Do that by click the Update DB button and you're done.

I have tested and works perfect. Hope this helps anyone else.

You have old version of the plugin. This issue has been fixed. Uninstall plugin completely. Don't forget to remove it from the available plugin section. Then download new one from the store and configure it according to the tutorial.
