Jasper, Contact Importer plugin works with the Gmail address book only and doesn't work with friends/circles list that is why you don't need to to turn on/off any other API's.
Meanwhile, if you need the Contact Importer plugin has such kind of functionality it would be the custom code modification. If you don't have programming skills, you can find a third-party developer here: http://www.oxwall.org/market/specialists

Concerning your question about oDesk developers, we don't have any recommendations. There are a lot of developers it's better to choose the developer according to your requirements by your own.

Jasper Esmalla, you are right, the usage of many third-party plugins may leads to slow site loading. But it depends on which plugins you are using on your site.
For example, the plugins can be "light" or "heavy" but only heavy plugins may result the high load of your server.
As for our plans, we always working on improvement of performance and quality of our software, but mainly the site performance depends on the server capacity and functionality of the plugins that you are using.

I like the idea of your like and comment on items where the items (photos/videos) will be shown again in the beginning of a users newsfeed..........any chance you are doing that for items browse page? Meaning, just like pinterest, on the photo browse page, if a user likes, comments, shares, and rates a photo, that photo will go back to the top of the browse photo page as well as it shows on the top of a users newsfeed.  

Also, in the lightbox pop up for photo.......howcome there is no like button or function there? I really like the software, but it needs a lot more options for users and admin settings like users can have option which album/photo they want to share public or just with friends so it will not show up in browse photo if they are not friends as an example.

On another note. I have a problem with Contact Importer. A user told me that he received the invitation in his facebook message from my site (Contact Importer) and when he clicked on the link he received an error. Here's the error:

Presently our Photo plugin has four categories:
The Latest -  to sort the photos by date the picture was added to the site.
The Featured -  the photos which are specially marked by site administrator as “Featured”.
The Top rated - the most highly rated photos uploaded by the users.
The Most discussed - the photos that have triggered more comments.

So, you're talking now about the supplementary list, for example it could be named "Latest activity" where the photos will be sorted by last date of the comment or like.
Thereby you are suggesting a kind of new feature. If this is really essential, then feel free to submit your improvement at Oxwall uservoice: http://oxwall.uservoice.com/forums/13756-ideas-for-oxwall .

Concerning the "like button", such features have not been added yet in our Photo plugin, but we are sure that this feature will be useful for other oxwallers and as far as I know, this feature is already in production and sooner or later this will be added to the plugin.

And about the issue with Contact Importer, this is because earlier there was the SSL certificate attached to your IP. Now this SSL certificate is expired and you have got the error.
By the standard the SSL certificate require a dedicated IP address but nevertheless, you can host multiple SSL certificates on one IP Address using Server Name Indication (SNI).
You need to contact your hosting provider to configure it properly.

No, not a new feature in browse pages.........it is a new way for users to see activities where the old or older items will be seen by others in newsfeed and browse pages that if users liked, commented, rated, or shared the item then it will go to the very top of the browse page (Sort of like Pinterest way of pinning) and of course it will show it in the users newsfeed as well

Ok, but i did not have an SSL certificate that i know of or was attached to my IP. Do you think this is the result of using the same API KEy/Secret for Facebook integration and contact importer for Facebook? Can i use the same API Key/Secret for facebook on those 2 plugins? At first the Facebook integration did not work for a couple of months and now it's working. 

By the way, is there a notification if someone follows a user? I don't notice any notification for that but maybe i'm testing it wrong.

Jasper Esmalla, presently in our system a new commented photo will appear in the Newsfeed again. Please specify in which of the existing tabs on the Browse Photo page, you want to display the photo with new added comment at the first position.

Concerning the Contact Importer issue could you please, specify what kind of hosting you have got. Is it shared or VPS hosting? Is that your own server?
You can not use the same App ID and App Secret for both plugins. They must be different. Please see the manuals:

I guess  making a comment shares the photo or items automatically, but if you rate it or share on facebook (or twitter, pinterest, etc) it doesn't post on newsfeed. But it needs to be carefully done because if you comment on a photo, rate the same photo, and share the same photo then it will post the same photo in the newsfeed. It has to be posted only once or in the posted photo it will say on the title "User commented, rated, and shared to facebook (twitter, etc).

Since in the browse pages the items is always on the Latest tab automatically just put that auto function of going into the front in the Latest tab for any activity of an items browse page.

Ok, so it is not possible at all for Contact Importer to use the same key and Secret? For some reason it worked and there were no errors because you can actually make multiple apps or functions added in one app created in facebook. The problem is this.........is i create another app in facebook then that means the other app has to be a different name.......you can't make the same name with 2 apps so it is an issue in that sense.

Followers: ok........I think these needs to be added (the followers notification, who to follow, and who you may be friends with) for widgets in the upgrade.

Concerning the Latest tab each tab performs its own function. And as I said before for the Latest tab it is sorting the photos by date the picture was added to the site.
You can not add another functionality for this tab because these  functionalities  are different. So If you want to add a function to auto display any activity with photos, it will be a new functionality and a new tab.

Please, clarify have you managed to fix  the Contact Importer issue ?
You are right, since the Facebook have made changes in requirements you can use the same App ID and App Secret for both plugins FB Connect and FB Contact Importer.
So, please check, whether all parameters on the  Facebook App form are filled in correctly. See the screenshot.
