What I did is uninstall the installed version and uploaded the latest one from the website via FTP and reinstall. But after I post something in the newsfeed, it displays Error 500.
How to update it??

I would do a search in the forums here for error 500, as there have been a lot in the last few days. Easy answer is update your plugins,
1 thing to try is rename the newsfeed folder and see if you have access,
but there have been a few people with the same issue.
