I just made a clean 1.7.2 install. and made 1 Chinese group. When you click inside of group, Chinese text become gibberish.

We have tested on our test server and demo. We do not have this issue

check how the description and title is displayed in your database/ow_groups_group table

Your description field should look like that:

I don't see any styles. Try to create a group with the English content click in the Description fields and provide screenshot of the ow_groups_group table again.

Even in English's group. The newsfeed shows that What’s happening? incorrect text.
