you said you wanted to try something i was going to say inside the messages update folder there is a query to update the db.  You can run that manually im sure and maybe it will clear that off the page.

whichever you want to try, it would be quite bad for me to think i can teach you putty like this.   so maybe we should try to fix what we know to be true, and that is you have a message on your screen that needs to be cleared so lets do the query first.

Ok, I had removed the old mailbox folder and replaced it back with the old one, should I now over write the old one with the new file? And what file would I use to manually run the query update in the DB in phpmyadmin area?

looks like from the message that the files have been overwritten already, but just in case yes just remove the messages folder and put the new one back in there.

so inside of that mailbox folder there is an update folder  but first look at your plugin.xml file that is in the mailbox folder and grab the build number

you want to try to find that number in the updates folder

now before we do this you need to know that if this does not work you may have to restore from your backup and get back to a working site.  do i have your permission to proceed?

i thought maybe i could take the sql from the install and just give it to you but there are several tables for the mail and im not sure which one they updated.

So with that i think our time is probably better spend restoring.  Im just concerned that even with the mail sql stuff we may stil be stuck.   So rather than do that, lets go to plan b and restore from last night ok.

is that ok with you.

That's perfectly fine with me, so you just want me to restore the old mailbox folder? I can do that now with no problems. But the update plugins DB page still stays there as I have tried this, I would do a complete new platform update but I don't want too loose exisitng links and user DB.

no just do a restore from your backup last night so we have a solid platform to build on, then you can be at the point before the update applied at all.  Then we can walk you thru it.

The point is to get to a place in time before the update when the site was running and restore the files and the db together from backup.   I think thats the safer method here.

Ok well I can do that, is there a way to do a backup for the DB threw phpmyadmin?
