I've just upgraded our oxwall site to the new version, only to find that it has overwritten the htaccess file that I took a month to build! Some warning would have been nice, guys!!!

Better yet, why don't you remove reliance on htaccess altogether? That would be a much better solution!

James Geddes, please have a look at this topic : http://www.oxwall.org/forum/topic/37319 . This question have already been discussed. We understand there are a lot of things still should be done. And as you know Oxwall is a small team and our capabilities are limited. We have lots of stuff on our plate and are working hard to make it happen. At the same time we are also constantly streamlining the operation to make it more efficient. Just give us time.

We have discussed this before - Oxwall is an open source project so why don't you encourage the community to help develop the core? Time is not a luxury that we all have.

James Geddes, I want to make it clear that we have a certain point of view and path which we follow. It also concerns overwriting of files during updates. We overwrite files to assure stable and flawless upgrade.
Also we have a public repository where you can add your fixes: https://bitbucket.org/oxwall/public . Any oxwall user may commit changes with working solution or add bug fix.

We are always open for your suggestions and solutions if you have any.

Please use this topic http://www.oxwall.org/forum/topic/37319 ; for further discussions.
