I'm really impressed by this free open source script. I plan to donate once I tally up the damages for all the add-ons. Unfortunately, the bill is adding up fast and I'll likely have to hire developers to create additional features.

One thing I'm really confused about is the cover images. Is this difficult to code? I see it as standard on many scripts but not on Oxwall. The problem is instead of a bundled plugin, they are all separate. Here's what it will cost you for the ability to add cover photos:

To profiles $29
To groups $20
To events $20

That's $69 just for the ability to add cover images. This is all offered by one developer as individual purchases. This seems a bit outrageous for this relatively standard feature.

Are there any plans to add cover images to the core product? Sorry, but feels a bit like extortion to be charged $70 for the ability to add images. I was working with a $40 script that gave us this feature (for profiles, groups and pages) with the core product. The code was just too complex to modify extensively so I'm still testing different scripts. Would love to keep this one. Just disappointed in how pricey some of these plugins are.

Thanks.

Eliz, thank you for your suggestion. There are a lot of things still should be done. And we are thinking about improving our software constantly within the small team.
Unfortunately, I can't affect our developer and product designer teams about implementation of new functionality, because I'm just a supporter.
For this goals we use our suggest board to show our product designers what features are the most essential.
It would be better if you make a suggestion on uservoice: http://oxwall.uservoice.com/forums/13756-ideas-for-oxwall.

@AJ
I can also understand that it is complex
the only problem with many plugins is that they do not work with each other
Are there many Pluzgins where you have to turn deactivating other plugins for its functioning

ED, as usual, someone is trying to stir up trouble where there shouldn't be any. Just b/c a $600 script exists and charges to add the covers doesn't make this standard. As I said, I have a $40 script that works great and includes covers for profiles, groups and fan pages. Additionally, it can be used as either a follow system or friend system. It has a couple drawbacks so currently, I'm debating which one to develop. I know either way, I'll have to hire developers to add/change things. So it's not necessary to get derogatory over a simple inquiry. This is how Internet communities turn negative quickly.

Taissa and AJ, thanks for the info. The only thing I feel bad about is I'd like to contribute to Oxwall development as that seems like an incredible amount of effort for people to make for something that is free. The core product is excellent. But again, if you have to keep purchasing plugins to provide the same features as a premium product, the costs can be roughly the same or more. But I'm not as concerned about the cost as the reliability. If things work and plugins are compatible with the latest updates, it's worth any extra cost.

Also, the fact that you have a development team on this constantly updating the code is a huge plus. If I continue w/ this and use it, I would be happy to contribute monthly to its development. I think most people using it should - even if it's just a $5-20 contribution.

Thanks again!
