Steven, as far as I understand, you are in process of developing mobile application now. And you would like to add push notification system in this application. Our Oxwall software has a notification system and it's implemented via Activity notification plugin and there is no necessity to add this feature into the core files. In order to implement push notification system for mobile App you will need to customize or redevelop this plugin for your App.
