If you place the favicon.ico image in your root dir and set the permission to 0755 or 755, it should appear after 10 or 20 min. Make sure you have it book marked to your favorite bar.
I got mine to work on Firefox but not IE.

If you want it to show up on IE you must upload it to:
/ow_userfiles/plugins/base/favicon.ico
