I understand the part about people adding this to their website but i am confused about the part that you can have it also on Newsfeed, profile, or dashboard but when I change it to any of those I do not see anything appear on those pages on my site.

For now, the plugin does not have internal sharing feature. Maybe it will be included in a future release.
What the plugin does is to let people add your website share button on their site. People can easily share something to their profile page, dashboard and index newsfeed of your website by clicking on the share button.
