Do you have GD Library installed on the server?

Along with GD you also need TTfonts (at least my captcha would not work without it)

what does your error log show?

no logs created inside ow_logs folder

no your server error logs, if you dont know where these are located ask your web host

This looks like an access_log, what about the error_log?

if you have cPanel there should be a section labelled error log, sometimes they get created inside your public_html folder too

error on the error logs is not related to this site. any other files you like me to check ?

you may have to look deeper into the log, the error logs should relate to that site, without these its hard to pinpoint what is stopping the images from showing.

just curious does the captcha work when private messaging users? or does it show up the same?

I don't see any captcha for private messaging users.

May I know which captcha plugin that oxwall using. I guess I have to some test on the captcha itself to find out the problem.

usually if you send 2 or more private messages in quick succession you are promoted to enter captcha

the captcha library is located in ow_libraries/securimage/

you should also check that that folder contains a file called AHGBold.ttf, this is the font used to output the characters.
