Hi everybody
I am new to Oxwall and wonder whether there is support for plugins by their vendors. I mean, suppose that I buy and install a plugin but need to do some customization to it. Then do I need to do it myself (is the source code of plugins available?) or can I rely on the support provided by the plugin vendor?

Thanks very much.

Support varies from dev to dev. Some will offer customization at an additional cost; some will direct you to do it yourself, or hire a programmer. Some you will never get a response from. Once you download the plugin you have access to the code for customization, but if you don't have the skills needed to do the customization, you may be stuck.
1. Look at version compatibility before purchasing. Purchasing plugins that do not support the current Oxwall version is not advisable. This is a good sign that the dev is not, or no longer updating their plugin, and it may not function properly.
2. Try to contact the dev either through the plugin forum, or PM. If there is no response in a reasonable time frame, the dev may have abandoned the plugin. If the version is up to date, and you get no response, that will give a strong indication of what seeking support will be like.
3. Read the plugin forums to see how well the dev responds, and see others reviews of the plugin.

+1 Darryl

Also, it's best to ask before buying one. It makes the entire process of setting your site up longer, but at least you won't lose out on money. I've bought 29 plugins, probably ~7 of them I won't be using because they're broken with the latest Oxwall (1.8.0 at the time of this writing). I've had to edit at least a couple of them to work better.

Some of the free plugins I've seen provide zero functionality and there will be people around the forum offering to do certain jobs for you that can be done for free.

Now despite all of that, the Oxwall software itself is very nice and has a lot of potential. We just need most of the developers to stop selling products that don't work and start support their products. At the moment, the only plugins I would truly recommend are from aron, iDragon, Mike, and Sergey.

I apologize to the others that support their stuff, I haven't been in contact with everyone, and what I've written is based off of my own experience thus far with Oxwall.
