the plugin uses background images
background images are for backgrounds

it need proper img tags and alt tags

<div class="ow_photo_item_widget{if !empty($p.class)} {$p.class}{/if}" style="background-image: url({$p.url});" data-url="{$p.url}"></div>

Regarding your posts related to the background images we are using instead of plain images and alt tags.

Why we use background-images and not images? Because it gives us more opportunity to change and adapt the layout, the layout becomes more flexible, we can play with the sizes of the backgroung images and do the changes in the theme on the fly in case we need to create new theme or change the current ones.

As to the absense of alt tags and it's affect on SEO - We do not think that absense of alt tags affects Google positions of your site that much. We think absense of a friendly, unique content on the site affects your SEO and Google standing more

So choosing among "better" SEO and flexible layout, we incline to pick flexible layout.

As to the descrimination against blind people, we never claim that Oxwall software is intended for such speciliazed purposes, so we believe it will be more practical if people with reduced capabilities try to find other solutions that meet their needs.

Besided, I already noted you, that Oxwall is an open source software, you're free to change and modify it the way you want it and you're free to do that on your own or hire a programmer if you don't have proper programming skills.

You can make pull requests in our public Oxwall repository on github as well

I will post this message once, all other topic related to the alt tags and images will be deleted. Do not create duplicates.

please go to google webmaster and read this

  • Try to use text instead of images to display important names, content, or links. If you must use images for textual content, use the alt attribute to include a few words of descriptive text.

this bit here is interesting while we are looking at guidelines

  • Use the robots.txt file on your web server to manage your crawling budget by preventing crawling of infinite spaces such as search result pages. Keep your robots.txt file up to date. Learn how to manage crawling with the robots.txt file. Test the coverage and syntax of your robots.txt file using the robots.txt testing tool.

The alt attribute is used to describe the contents of an image file. It's important for several reasons:

  • It provides Google with useful information about the subject matter of the image. We use this information to help determine the best image to return for a user's query.
  • Many people-for example, users with visual impairments, or people using screen readers or who have low-bandwidth connections—may not be able to see images on web pages. Descriptive alt text provides these users with important information.

now lets get to background images
please do a google search on it
use img tag or background image

and every page you find all state the same
If the image is part of the content such as a logo or diagram or person (real person, not stock photo people) then use the <img /> tag plus alt attribute. For everything else there's CSS background images.

Is this part of the content or part of the design?

now let get to some the other post you deleted
image alt tags in emails
please search this in google
images in email with no alt tags marked as spam

every page says the same

Image-to-Text RatioToo many images (or too large of an image) compared to text in an HTML email can be considered spammy. Adding more text and/or reducing the number and size of images may help. Keep in mind that lots of email clients block images by default, so there's a good chance that even if your image-heavy emails make it into the inbox, your recipients don't see the images automatically. Also, make sure your images include alt tags. For more on this check out The Ultimate Guide to Styled ALT Text in Email from Litmus.

Hears another rule I would like oxwall to abide by

All online store owners or company's are responsible for good they sell

Have a responsibility  to ensure  goodso that are sold work and do what they are described to do

Now if goods sold  do not work or are not what they are described to do then the store owner or company is liable to refund the buyer

Now I have over $1000 in plugins with around $700 of that on plugins that don't work or are not as they are described

So I am demanding a refund in full from oxwall

So I can go buy a script that works

I just can't get my head around why you deleted posts that had problems and the fixes in them

Why does oxwall want there mails marked as spam

Why does oxwall not want to follow Internet best practices

Why does oxwall want bad soever on there script

Why does oxwall want to discriminate against blind people

What's next people with only one legs can't use oxwall

+1 Tammy.

Things need to be discussed properly and resolved by both oxwall and the community.
Stop brick-walling us and get the rest of the team involved in the discussion.

Deleting posts shouldn't ever happen unless they are specifically offensive. The topic is a very broad one so stop moderating for a minute and actually get involved.

Links have been provided for proof by devs and members, new and existing. What is there to fight? Just fix it.

Let's dive into this a bit deaper

There's 2 answers to this and that want or have

Let's look at want

Oxwall wants everyone emails to be marked as spam

Oxwall wants us to have bad seo  and for us to waste money on plugins as no site will go anywhere with out it

Now let's look at have

Oxwall have to make thing so stuffed up from signing a contract that states they have to

IL leave the who out of it for now

Silence  is deafening

Science is an act of guilt

Please refund my money

I deleted your posts, because I was told to, because all of them were about one thing, we use backgrounds instead img tag and if it is an image it does not have alt tag.

I explained why we do this and deleted all posts related to this problem and replied in one.

And I provided you the official asnwer regarding blind people discrimination. Pleaes read above

As to the refuding your money, if you shop on Amazon, you bought something, but it is not what you expect, do you ask Amazon to refund your money or the company which is listed on Amazon that you bought your stuff from.

Also read the 4. Parties Responsibilities

4.1.1 point of the store terms: http://www.oxwall.org/store/terms

First off they were about different plugins and features how many times have u said one topic per thread

Amazon sells solid goods not digital good so u better go and read the laws in USA and Australia on online stores selling digital goods
