You can disable newsfeed galley

in: ow_plugins/newsfeed/classes/event_handler.php

find

OW::getEventManager()->bind('base.on_get_user_status', array($eventHandler, 'getUserStatus'));

change to

  //OW::getEventManager()->bind('base.on_get_user_status', array($eventHandler, 'getUserStatus'));

Ross why have you moved this? I would definitely consider this a bug. If you post an image on someone's profile wall, why should it be added to your own news feed images gallery? It should work like Facebook where it's added to their wall? 

sean this was reported as a problem when oxwall made the stuff up in 1.6 

and as oxwall always does they dodge it 
and if they do even realise there is a problem and mark it to be fixed
in 4 years you will still be bashing your head against the wall asking for it to be fixed  

and i see ross left out the standard reply
hire a specialist to fix it
or post in user voice 

allthe good dev like you come here make a few cool plugins then start posting on huge problems and get stuffed around and in the end they just pack up and leave
