I noticed in the change log of 1.8.2 that the minimum PHP version upscaled to PHP 5.5.

make sure you back everything up before updating.

Not true I'm running 1.8.2 on 5.4.4 clear cache before any overwrites to avoid errors. www.sochaseme.com check it
