As to the advertisement, you can configure your ads in the admin panel here: www.yoursite.com/admin/advertisement
as to the statistics, please elaborate what kind of statistics you're referring to.

what code you inserted and where exactly in html_document in the master pages?
is it a php code?

you can set the place where the ad should be displayed here: www.site.com/admin/advertisement/manageunfortunately, you can't display it on index page only. this is a custom code modification, you will need to do that on your own or hire a programmer
