They say to wait until it shows up in the admin panel.  I don't trust Softaculous to do it.

The updates showed up on mine last week. If you have 1.8.3, have you tried going to the admin panel, and clicking on the area where the updates show, and then click on "check for updates"? one user did this, and it came in. It may be a sign to make sure the cron is working correctly as well.
