Jpg extension is allowed under content settings and pictures are easily uploaded in Newsfeed.
I have uninstalled Messages plugin and re-installed, but error still persists.
Any suggestions?

I get a 'The File Extension Is Not Allowed' error message whenever I try to upload pictures in Messages and Chat (see attached image).

Try making your JPG extension jpg (lowercase not JPG) and see if that works. :) Also make sure you dont have media content turned off in admin settings. Sorry i dont have my test site open right now so i dont remember the exact location or name.

Hi Dave, checked those and they look fine.
However, chat dialog colour was recently changed via CSS edit, could this have had anything to do with the error?
Also, what can I do to completely delete the Messages plugin together with changes that are unaffected by uninstall, so I can install afresh?

Got to the bottom of it... the extensions should have been placed one to a line. Thanks.
