Is there a way to increase the amount of post's automaticly loaded and shown in the newsfeed?
At the moment If a user goes to their dashboard they see about 10 newsfeed entries and then get the oppertunity to load more if they want.
I just want to increase the number from about 10 post's to about 30.
Can it be done?

For the dashboard. Go to admin / pages / user dashboard. When you hover over the newsfeed you will see a gear icon. When you click on it a customize box will open. You can change the number of items in the settings. See screenshot. You can do the same with the main page newsfeed by clicking on the "customize this page" button at the top of the page.

Its obvious when you thnk about it that I should have tried that in the first place lol but for some reason I was looking in the plugins settings menu for it.
The drop down box gives you the option of having 5, 10, or 20 items to show. Is there a way I can increse this even more? For example I really need to show between 30 - 40 items.

You can check this post. I've never done it. Some things to keep in mind.
1. When making changes to files on the server you need to set dev mode in the config.php file to true. This is in the group at the very bottom of the page. Never change the group above this.
2. Once you make your changes go to your site, and refresh any page to see the affect of your changes.
3. Once done; set dev mode back to false.
4. You will have to re-apply your changes after each update since the updates overwrite the files.
