Has anyone made a plugin that allows posts to be shared and viewed by location? If not, could it be done?

There is a plugin ( Newsfeed Location Tag ) which allows adding location to a Newsfeed post. Perhaps this plugin allows displaying Newsfeed posts for particular location. If it does not, may be you could suggest this feature to the plugin's author.
