I just see newsfeed have the same functions even better :Dso why do we keep "Status Updates"?is there any reason? Do it have some different function that newsfeed don't have?

You can delete Status update plugin from your site. Original status update plugin was removed from our store.

Status update was fine. Trying to get away from a facebook look myself. I installed the newsfeed but it seemed to spill messages out the side and didn't wrap properly. It looked ugly. Status update worked fine for me… I will be holding onto it for as long as I can!
