Newbie trying to install - install/requirements not found error | Forum

Hi there,

I love the look of the oxwall product. I'm trying to install it. I think I've followed the directions, but whenever I go to my domain (actually http://localhost/ , I get the following error:

The requested URL /install/requirements was not found on this server.

I can't see any 'install' directory in the download of Oxwall common 1.4.1

What am I doing wrong?

Many thanks!

In fact, the install.txt instructions say

"Go to http://www.mysite.com/install to run the install script", but there is no install file either. So I was following another post I saw to just run http://www.mysite.com . But neither way works for me..

I'm getting further. For anyone else who got this, the problem is probably related to the .htaccess file.

1) You need to make sure that it is in the root directory

2) You need to make sure that your server is set up to do mod_rewrites

3) You need to make sure that the sections related to using .htaccess have the allow override sections set to All , not none..

Now I get blank page when I try to install, but it's better than an error..

Ah!

Then going to http://www.test.com/install/ does the job!

I had the same problem as you, but now the setup page appears, but I have no GUI. Is this the case for you?
