I have been able to set-up the SMTP. Attracting my users back to my site has always been a problem. I have funny things to entertain them but they don't get notices.Now that SMTP is ok, Oxwall must be able to send notifications when:
there is a new comment,
like,
pictures are rated,
new pictures/albums/videos are posted,
a new blog/forum/discussion is created
invitation to add as friend is accepted,
a friend leaves offline chat messages
and in fact any new activities.
Are all these possible?

Kumi, I know that there are some plugins up in the store that send out different kind of notifications. So check the store.
Personally, I don't think that sending out notifications about activities you have listed above is a good idea. User will be getting way too many of them and will get annoyed quickly.
