QuickBooks database server manager is only required when you host your QuickBooks desktop in multi user mode

How to Install QBDM

You can install it while installing QuickBooks. You need to select custom/network install and choose the option to install QuickBooks database server manager on the server computer which will be hosting your QB company file. Later you can turn the hosting mode on.

Another way to check if QuickBooks database server manager is installed on your computer is to download QuickBooks tool hub

Go to network issues tab and click on QuickBooks database server manager button. If QBDM is installed on your PC it will open up otherwise you need to download QuickBooks and perform a network install.

QBDM can help to resolved issues such as H202 and H505. Most of the networking issues can be rectified by using QBDM. Check out QuickBooks tool hub documentation for more information.

Here's how to Download and use QuickBooks Database Server Manager?
  • Open your QuickBooks installer and run the setup wizard.
  • Connect to the web, then click Next.
  • Learn carefully when settling the device, then set the phrases and conditions, then click Next.
  • Click on Custom or Network choices.
  • Select configuration means.
  • Type your license quantity if needed.
  • Click Yes, allow access to.
  • Follow the rest of the instructions to complete the setup.

Configure Database Server Manager

Open the Windows Start menu.

Type Services in search and open Services.

Select and open QuickBooksDBXX (XX is the version number).

Go to General and find Service status. 

From Startup type, select Automatic.

Go to Logon and select Local System account.
