How can I curb my sugar cravings on fast days? | Forum

So, I'm a beginner, I'm going back to the 5:2 diet after two or three years, and one of my most difficult tasks on fasting days is at about 7/8 pm after dinner, when I have a strong craving for sugar. someone advised me to go to bed at this time, but I have a job and study at the university, so it just seems impossible. Also, I like to stick to my sleep habits on a schedule, as I have to wake up at 5 a.m. almost every day. the other day I even struggled with sleep, even though I was exhausted because my sugar levels were so low, any recommendations or tips on how to overcome this?

Sugar works on the principle of flavor enhancers and narcotic substances. The more you eat, the more you want it. The less you eat it, the less you want it. Therefore, the only way to completely give up sugar is to stop eating it.  You can read the stories of people addicted to prescription medications, street drugs and how they managed to cope.
