Facebook contact importer requires https. In shared hosting the https is the server name with the user name.
My site is findacave.com so for example:
Canvas URL http://www.findacave.com/contactimporter/fbcanvas/
Secure Canvas URL:https://KRATIM.LUNARBREEZE.COM/~username/contactimporter/fbcanvas/
Where username is my username.
Problem is that the secure canvas url gives a 404 error. Is there a modification to the htacces file that will solve this?

Kelly, you will need to contact your hosting company to find out why the URL in a "https://KRATIM.LUNARBREEZE.COM/...ctimporter/fbcanvas/" format results in 404 error.

Although I believe I have used the right address the Facebook button doesn't work.
Here is the address: https://host7.vervehosting.com/...ctimporter/fbcanvas/
Of course I replaced the username with my account username.

Yes I am getting a 404 not found message.
I contacted my hosting company and here is their reply: "there's a problem with the directives in your .htaccess file. If I rename the file to .htaccess.bak the url http://mylifestylenetwork.com/~username/ works. With the .htaccess file in place the website is being redirected to some page that doesn't exist."
