One of the common QuickBooks errors is 15102 which users often get when downloading a payroll or updating a QuickBooks desktop.

Reasons to Cause the issue:

1. If you are using the wrong download path

2. If your system is running QuickBooks in multi-user mode

3. If you are not logged on with an administrator account for the Windows Vista operating system.

To fix error code 15102, you need to follow some simple steps.

Solution 1: Enable single-user mode to resolve the error

Switch QuickBooks to single user mode and fix the error.

- Open QuickBooks on the Workstation

- On the File menu, click Switch to Single User.

- Update QuickBooks Payroll again.

Solution 2: Check the shared download location

If shared downloads are enabled, QuickBooks will try to save updates to the shared location. If it is currently unavailable or inaccessible, error 15102 is displayed.

Solution 3: Log in to Windows as an administrator

There are some tasks that cannot be performed without administrator privileges, one of which is payroll update download and installation. Run QuickBooks as an administrator.
