I have made my site in such a way that a new user must insert an image before registration becomes valid but everyday I see many people register without inserting profile images. How is this possible? How can I stop this?

Set Avatar as required in the admin user settings.
There are some bugs in 1.4.1 and its said its fixed in 1.5.

I have done that already and bots are still getting the chance to run around. Good that those are fixed in 1.5
