Hi, How do we update from 1.4?

Do we simply overwrite all the files from Download Oxwall update pack 1.5.0 into the root? and the run ow_updates?

Cheers

The best option is to wait until the auto update request appears into your admin panel.

Also, you can perform a manual update. Check exact instructions from here http://docs.oxwall.org/install:update

Sorry i did not understand you proper .As soon as you log into your admin it will show on the main admin page when there is an update,it will take about 36 hours for 1.5 update to show update in your admin.

I dont think you can update using softaculous ,you can only do a full install useing softaculous.

better to wait for update to show in your admin.

I've open the update pack and noticed that, if I unpack the content, it gonna overwrite the current files, Is that right? Or I've understood wrong the documentation?

Helike, manual update will overwrite custom code modifications only. Other then that it will save your  data. That is why we recommend doing custom code modifications via the plugins only.

Documentation regarding manual update can be found here http://docs.oxwall.org/install:update.

Before you attempt it, make sure to:

Back up your website.

Install all available plugin updates right after the platform update.

If you use a third party theme, update it manually via FTP.

Users who have already updated their plugins, also recommend deactivating plugins before updating them.

What I did:-

Waited until the update showed in admin.

Disabled every plugin

Updated core

Activated plugins one by one, updating them as I go.

Worked well!
