QuickBooks Error Code 12002 is a common error that occurs when QuickBooks encounters issues while trying to connect to the internet. It can be caused by various factors such as network connectivity problems, firewall or antivirus settings, or issues with Internet Explorer settings. Here are some steps you can take to resolve QuickBooks Error Code 12002:

Check your internet connection: Verify that you have a stable internet connection. Open a web browser and try accessing a website to ensure that your internet is working properly. If you're experiencing any issues with your internet connection, contact your internet service provider for assistance.

Update QuickBooks to the latest release: Ensure that you have the latest updates for QuickBooks. Go to the Help menu in QuickBooks and select "Update QuickBooks." Follow the prompts to download and install any available updates.

Check firewall and antivirus settings: Sometimes, firewall or antivirus software can block QuickBooks from accessing the internet. Temporarily disable the firewall and antivirus software on your computer and try running QuickBooks again. If the error doesn't occur with the firewall and antivirus disabled, you may need to adjust the settings to allow QuickBooks access to the internet. Consult your firewall or antivirus software documentation or contact the software provider for guidance on how to add QuickBooks as an exception.

Configure Internet Explorer settings: QuickBooks uses Internet Explorer to connect to the internet, so it's important to ensure that Internet Explorer is set up correctly. Follow these steps to configure Internet Explorer settings:

Open Internet Explorer.

Go to the Tools menu and select "Internet Options."

In the General tab, click on "Delete" under Browsing History and delete temporary internet files, cookies, and history.

Go to the Connections tab and click on "LAN Settings."

Make sure that "Automatically detect settings" is checked and that "Use a proxy server for your LAN" is unchecked.

Click OK to save the changes.

Perform a clean install of QuickBooks: If the error persists, you may need to perform a clean installation of QuickBooks. Uninstall QuickBooks from your computer and then reinstall it using the latest version available from the official Intuit website. Make sure to follow the recommended steps for a clean installation, including deleting any leftover QuickBooks files and folders.
