inspected with firebug? may the thumbnail creation, css or some js is the problem, just guessing ;)

It seems like the pic are small then have been enlarge a bit ,

set .ow_guest_avatar, .ow_guest_avatar img { width: 70px; height: 70px; } to
.ow_guest_avatar, .ow_guest_avatar img { width: 40px; height: 40px; }
3, set ow_includes/config.php div mode to false
