Solution 1: Update Windows Installer

Press Windows + R: Press the Windows key and R simultaneously to open the Run dialog.

Type "msiexec /unregister" and Enter: Type "msiexec /unregister" in the Run dialog and press Enter. This unregisters the Windows Installer.

Type "msiexec /regserver" and Enter: Type "msiexec /regserver" in the Run dialog and press Enter. This re-registers the Windows Installer.

Restart Computer: Restart your computer to apply the changes.

Install QuickBooks: Try installing or updating QuickBooks again.


Solution 2: Group Policy Update

Press Windows + R: Press the Windows key and R simultaneously to open the Run dialog.

Type "gpedit.msc" and Enter: Type "gpedit.msc" in the Run dialog and press Enter to open the Group Policy Editor.

Navigate to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Installer: In the Group Policy Editor, navigate to the path mentioned above.

Double-click on "Prohibit non-administrators from applying vendor-signed updates": Set this policy to "Disabled."

Click Apply and OK: Apply the changes and close the Group Policy Editor.

Restart Computer: Restart your computer.

Install QuickBooks: Try installing or updating QuickBooks again.
