this is odd i was in the language section and changed a different value and the first issue fixed its self talk about the ghost in the machine lol.

Did you get any errors?

This is regulated only via languages.
I think that the issue is that your custom meta data values are not being saved in languages.
I have tested on my own installation and all went well:
