Hi all, asking for my father who has a Longines quartz (looks like the Prescience) , had it about 15-20 years.

Having only ever had it serviced with official agents (excluding battery replacement), as far as he is aware (though they asked an official Longines seller in Portugal before to fix the crown as it would not change the date, they failed to fix it) He sent it off to Longines UK for a standard service. 

When there they noted a scratch on the glass and offered to replace the glass. Having disassembled the watch, they are claiming it was fitted with a non Longines 'bezel' for the glass as as such would not repair it, my father asked them to return it in one piece, they sent it back as per the picture below, and said they could not do anything with it. Any suggestions for longines watch service as what to do with it?
