I know this is not the best way to do this, but it worked for me. 
1. Deactivated Links plug-in in admin panel.
2. Log-in into to your on hosts cpanel and go to phpmyadmin.
3. Locate ow_links in databases - edit or remove from database, link or links in question.
Note: You should really know what your doing, database editing the wrong file can really mess things up.  Back up before editing, if it does not work you can restore.
4. Activate Links plug-in in admin panel.
I tried to extend the text but still do not see "more" or "remove".  Using Minimalistic theme on 50 inch TV.  Hope this is of some help!

Thanks Knut, this is the solution, very easy solution.  I agree, caution is needed when deleting files in cpanel.
