I have tried the code you used and, indeed, it resulted in "blank" box.
I have used another youtube code ( see bellow). And it worked.
Have tested with several random youtube codes and all went well. Could there be something wrong with your embedd code?

BOX AND LEAVE BLANK OR TYPE SOME THING THEN POST THE COMMENT ~THIS SEEMS
LIKE UNNECESSARY EXTRA STEPS AND THE SCRIPT NEEDS TO BE RE WRITTEN TO
NOT SHOW THE EMBED OR HTML ALONG WITH THE IMAGE, I HAVE WRITTEN MY OWN
SCRIPT FOR PHPFOX BASED SCRIPT FOR OUR OTHER SITES AND THIS IS POSSIBLE

THE NEWS FEED OR THE WALLSorry my english...
embeed works on newsfeed widget but not works in the wall widget?

OK I will make note of that and will try and work on a script that allow embed codes for videos on the wall at least,I understand the news feed,but a lot of people want to be abled to send videos to their friends (such as the wall on the counter friends profile)
