I would to configure the main page. For example, add a slidshow. However I can only find way to configure the Dashboard and the User profile. How can I configure in the same way the page, and by the way to other pages to?

If you browse your site logged in as admin, you will see customize this page at the top of any page you click the menu link of. drag and drop as needed after that and click cog wheel to edit that specific box. dont forget to hit save page at top when completed.
