Hi! The barge master course at Lerus Training is designed for those who want to become a barge master on mobile offshore units (MOU). The program includes terminology related to vessel stability, states of equilibrium, initial stability, longitudinal and transverse stability, hydrostatic parameters, spin and roll, damaged stability, effects of cargo and mooring systems, offshore movement and ballast management, and operating procedures and reporting. To participate, a valid MOU stability certificate, STCW certificate of competence as master, senior assistant master or officer in charge of navigation watch, basic STCW or BOSIET certificates, and a valid medical examination are required.
