Blurring avatars is really handy in encouraging people to register on a site while still seeing that there is activity and a decent size of real accounts already present. It also helps to reinforce the idea of "privacy" on a site where people really want to remain private about what they post. I installed this with these goals in mind. I've not had any bad experience with this one. You can blur the photos just a little or a whole lot while still being able to make out that it IS a photo and not just a blurred color or something. None of my members have complained about it (it only appears to unregistered guests on my site) so it seems to me it's doing it's job at adding a little privacy and enticing new registrations. I like it. No complaints. The developer of this tool is really quite responsive and good to work with when making requests for updates/improvements.
