This plugin has several uses. You just have to decide how you want to implement it. I am using mine as a public bulletin where members can post quick notes for all to see. It can also be used for public chat, posting for dates, site news, or whatever. Thanks Zaph for a multi purpose plugin.

1. this is not a widget it is a plugin; meaning you can't place it on its own page but only on a couple selected pages (index, dashboard); if you want it on other pre-defined oxwall pages you have to change the activate.php file, uninstall and re-install the plugin, or de-activate and re-activate, in any way it means you have to do ground work!); if you want to place it on a different page then those mentioned (including a new one) it is not possible without lots of changes (according to oxwall guys and the author) 2. poor performance -- probably because of the pooling is doing. 3. most importantly the support is rather poor, if you need any advise on how to customize it (ADVICE not coding) you get the classic answer which I see it A LOT here on OxWall "hire a dev, this is custom code change" -- unacceptable for an opensource community; it is a shame and laughable in the same time. grow up guys!

it gives me what I was looking for: Group (only members) chat and general chat on the Main screen. I am only missing an option to define the chat window size. It's a bit small... Somehow it's not used yet on my site, but I hope that will change with time

Since I have a custom theme, I thought this would look crappy; I was dead wrong... Fit like it should have always been there, nice work....

But text box is very small its better if you can make it re-sizable or change the input txt box to textarea so my visitors can read the full msg. they writing before they send the msg. also about colorpicker, every time they change the page or reload the page they always changing the font color, it better also if you can put cookies etc. so even they are going to another page no need to pickup color again, i have many visitors suggest this feature.
