Quote from Darryl B Oxwall is active on development. You can see activity here. I don't know what all they are working on, but they are active.

You are leader right? They dont speak with team-members?

great...

Leader is just a label that they give to people who help others, and don't promote negativity toward the platform. I understand that it is a free platform, and the Oxwall team members have other responsibilities that pay their bills. They have done a pretty good job at keeping the platform free. I wonder how many have actually directly supported development by making donations. Not purchasing 3rd party plugins, or themes; that goes to the developer, but donated to Oxwall. When given the option to take something for free, or donate; several will choose the free route. It's no secret that Skaffa is the key contributor in funding development, and with that, they have control in the roadmap with whatever that entails.

Not a word. There is still some movement with the project on Github, but it is slow. There hasn't been a team member on the forum since around mid December. Last I heard from Ross is that he was moved to another area.

Oxwall owned and controlled by a certain entity, and this entity does not make any money, not event an advertisement banner here, today or tomorrow it will collapse, the differences just "soon" and "very soon".

As a developer, i am willing to give up 20% - 30% revenue of plugin sale to oxwall, but they choose to let the developer to have 100% of the sale revenue, this is the problem.

as a idea developer like me i willing share my ideas for free all the time and they can sell my ideas and i get 0% and they 100%.

I think that will make the software better i see already it have get good result.....

I have created some more ideas finished plugins and i want to share them but i not good at coding so i worry i will not have the time or money update them in future and update them if need something better....

plus i wait for this core update so i know them will work on next update before i release them....

i get nothing for analyze pugins here and make them much better...but i will do it 100% free for make this software better and better.......

I hope ther will bee a update that is worth waiting for almost 1 year....I would prefer 2 updates in 1 year much better then  1 update in 1 year...

So, summarising where we are, as I read it:

* The forum is getting a lot more spam and not being attended to.  We haven't seen a team member on the forum for months
* The more active team members are now doing other things
* No update in about 8 months.  Github development seems to be slowing to a crawl
* No word on when there will be updates.  Indeed, no communications at all in recent times about where Oxwall is heading/what the developers are doing

The future is not looking at all good for Oxwall users.

I am a bit concerned about the spam posts and general lack of maintenance of the forum, as it indicates little or no activity by the team.

If there is any way I can volunteer my time to keeping the product and platform alive, just send me a message.

Only the team members have the ability to address spam. Just continue to report spam when you see it. Anyone can volunteer help. When you see something posted that you have an answer for just reply. I am no programmer, or familiar with server setup. I help with basic stuff from what I've picked up on the forums. There is usually a forum topic that can assist with some things. I do forum searches using Google. I start with "Oxwall", and what the problem is. Searching the forum directly is near impossible.

Hi,

I'm new here and seeing a post like this does concern us or anyone who has just found Oxwall and looking to invest time in using this system for their business. Obviously, there is no point using this if development has ceased or interest is waning.

However, there are some activity on Github for this project so that is reassuring to know. But it would be nice if developer can make a very small blog post on the progress of development. This would put us all at ease.

One thing we would like to raise as a newcomer is the store. We are happy to support their development but how the hell do you know what a plugin does with lack of details before you purchase? and is there any system in place to ensure the quality and security of the plugins since it is hosted on Oxwall? this is important as it can reflect badly for Oxwall if plugins are of low quality.

We chose Oxwall because it seems to have a lot of potential and features that is only found in  Oxwall compare to other OS social network projects out there. But the store is off-putting. Plugins are part of this ecosystem so the quality needs to reflect this.

@OW-Ghost phpfox already has all these improvement since last year. The price is a bit steep but after some further assessment, i think we will go with phpfox. It is far more professional.

Good luck with Oxwall.

There is many great dekstop version everywhere i feel but when it comes to mobile apps nobody takes it seriously and i think they need to do that if they want to win the race

There is a mobile app available for phpfox as an add-on. Both Android and iphone app. A bit pricy but it's a one time payment and free updates for life.

So i'm jumping ship...
