A year ago was released oxwall 1.8.4, and at present we have not heard news about a new version of the platform.
What's going on?
I am anxious to know what you are planning and what improvements have been made to the platform.

It seems that the core team doesn't have resources enough to release new updates for now, but as I know they will manage to resume active development later this year.
Anyway Oxwall core is quite stable at the moment, it does not have super serious issues. And as I can see, there are many new plugins and plugins' updates releasing each month. I think, the software is not dead as long as it has active plugins/themes developers and community members.
+1 SergeyGood joke.
There is activity on Github. It is very slow, but activity.
Look, https://github.com/oxwall/oxwall
month ago, year ago .....
Oxwall is dead.
This is the github capture on Jun 24 2017
Oxwall latest changes: 10 days ago
If you compare Oxwall changes with wordpress changes, you will see that it is not so different:
This is the wordpress github capture on Jun 24 2017
As you can see there is files that have not been changed in wordpress since 2 years ago, and that's because some files don't need to be changed or updated.
Maybe you are just mad because oxwall team doesn't answer and that's it, having a strong and reliable base and more plugins every month is all I need for my website.
I have a question for those who say "Oxwall is dead": Have you ever donated more than 20 USD to the oxwall project? If the answer is no, then you should, that way we can have oxwall team back to make more frequent updates.
I am here now and willing to develop and enhance, but I have to learn the system first. I'm not going anywhere as long as I don't find a better platform, and thus far I have not.
OxWall is one of the most stable and secure platform's I've come across, but it is complex as well.
It have to bee like this:
1. 100% perfect core + 10% perfect plugins = platform not working at all
2. 100% perfect plugins + 10% perfect core = platform not working at all
3. 100% perfect plugins + 100% perfect core = platform working!
Why is the Team ONLY put all effort on the CORE ???
Please explain how this will works together ???
Sergey tell us there is not very BIG issues with the core and he have started update his plugins and i feel this is the best way to make oxwall platform better. (all credits for that)
BUT why is not all following him and doing the same? then all issues would soon bee solved and only smaller core issues bee left that they are working at slowly.
I not understand this developers that IGNORE people and why nothing happens about they ignoring status they have for a very long time when it comes to plugin issues?
I would say there is only 20-25% of the developers that really care they projects and plugins and update them quickly when have issues.
I am so commited, but I did want to know why the Oxwall core don't have any message to us.
Sergay Thanks so much for the information about the oxwall futuro. I think you are one the best developers from oxwall proyect.
In fact I would like to learn from you.
here is my FAST and very SHORT review:
Platform
4/10
good = i like the design and layouts. i like that not many know how oxwall working that can keep some hackers away from oxwall if we lucky. i like there is many smart plugins in the store. skadate always answers and try help me.
bad = 75% of plugins not working as they should do and could bee much better but the developers ignore suggestions and issues the plugins have for many years before they if lucky update the plugins. core and app updates slowly. lack of interest create plugins that can support mobile apps for the future.
Sergey
6/10
good= very skilled developer, smart and have quality plugins in the store that are smart well made and useful.
bad = Slow updates of his plugins, lack of interest answer people on his plugin forum.
They have support with incoming money already.
1. Skadate software
2. Plugins
3. Payed oxwall support
4. Custom plugin development projects
5. Themes
6. Oxwall custom platform development
7. Skadate yearly services and other services.
8. Affiliate hosting companys
9. Selling skadate server hosting packages
10. The owner and skalfa have some new payment gateway website for sell different payment services.
11. Probably we do not know half off all projects and websites that is connected to all this TEAM developers.
Then imagine if you have 2 websites and 4 mobile apps how much money you invest in this guys.
I not sure if it is a money problem that make things slow, i think it is more complex then that.
Off course they have to pay things to like server cost (can not bee very high) and office cost (in kyrgyztan it should bee not very expensive) and other things ....
With all this said:
If they do faster upgrades we will buy more software and plugins and services and many other things and not need donate...we will trust the software and invest in more oxwall software!

Profile Avatars is turn around like crazy and have done in probably 7 years or more. Is that not a big hole or big bug that should bee fixed Levi?
And you telling there is no major big bugs? are you sure you use oxwall? this is a BIG visible bug that everyone can see. do you like avtars that upside down Levi? please answer that question to me here and now and i would bee very interested in you answer. It is a shame that it will not bee fixed in so many years and it is detsroys everything that shows oxwall a stabel software and you can not defend that how much you will ever try to do you can not defend such BIG bug and hole that have been for more then 7 years probably. is there any other software that have such BIG visible avatar bug? then show me that software
i have been on 100 dating sites and communitys sites and i never seen such VISIBLE MAJOR BUG on any site i visit.
stop put you head in the sand and see the major issues that should have been fixed many years ago
I hope they will fix the big avatar problem in the 1.8.5 version because it was bring up here 1000 times now so there is no reason to ignore such big problem
There is no other community sites that have such issues and dating sites and we do not want such visible issues on our websites
the plugin that was created to fix this is in my opinion a joke because who want sit down everyday and turn avatars and make them correct if you have 200-500 members join everyday. it will bee a 24 hours work....loool...everyone can figure out that this need bee solved with a auto feature in the core or with a plugin i not care i just want it bee fixed
maybe senior developer could solve it from manual to auto feature because he started make a plugin already for this and if he can not solve it there is 10 skilled oxwall developers that can solve it no doubt about it
have a great day!

I don't really see the problem here, oxwall is an extremely stable solution.
My biggest question is what solutions you have come across that can rival the out-of-box community features that oxwall provides?
I could understand if oxwall had major holes and bugs, but really it seems you are upset about a lack of "Wish List" items you want pre-packaged into oxwall.
I will be honest with you, hire a developer to create the features you want in the form of a plugin. And maybe then sell them on the marketplace (store)!
The platform is stable, and will be that way for years even if no-one updates the base-code!
Color outside the lines a little here. Oxwall is a Platform (or foundation if you will), that means you build on-top of it.
You can not run a car with only a enginee. you need all visible parts
It is same with a website.
Are you really happy with up side down avatars on your website Levi M. Luke ?
IF you are then maybe next time you should buy a car with a wheels on the roof and drive it upside down it should fit you perfect...
You can not say that mobile phones are not importen 2017 you are totally stuck in 1990 my friend if you saying that.
Mobile phones are more importen then laptops this days 2017 and you or oxwall developers can not ignore that and i think oxwall not do at least i hope they not do because i know soon they will release new native apps for skadate.
so if you want you desktop software bee SOME useful for you business to grow and earn money you need more then a eginee ... you need the importen visible parts
To deny that up side down avatars is not a HUGE issue is to do not know what you talking about and you believe you self people want to accept such BIG oxwall issue in several years is like i said before to put you head in the sand
they not making the effort to solve the avatar problem because this developesr are skilled no doubt about it and if they did the effort to solve it it would bee solved now no doubt about that to. we are talking about a problem that been visible for 5-7 years maybe not 1 month.
And you say that this is a issue for many web-makers. then please answer to me why i have never see this issue live on any dating or community site that use for example wordpress or any realated software...just show my some live website i no find anyone yet only oxwall that have this issue visible.
I would bee very happy and many others to if you could post your avatar rotate patch fix here so we can all solve this on our websites...waiting for that post.
The last weeks i have big issues run my site with 80 members online at same time and maybe 25% of this members was active on my expensive cloud host server.
1 year ago one member named Tammy here was banned from forum because he was bring this up here and that time i did not know how my website would run with 80 members online and 25% active but know i see the software have BIG issues and i working with skadate support to try see what it can bee that creates huge load and make my server stop 3 times now in 2 weeks.
the cpu can handle it and my ram can handle it
now my host company will monitor my website to see if they can find what make huge load on my site. very interesting to see what they can find.
so far we could see there have been HUGE IOPs the time my server stopped. but is it not about huge traffic we think it is something else that make this...
so when they was discuss oxwall have problem run 100 members online same time i think maybe they was right but i still analyze this and will analyze it to i get it solved.
25-40 active members is not very much people and should not cause HUGE load.
I think it is some bug that creates this load because it only happens sometimes so i can not blame the software yet it need bee analyzed more first and i will update here when i finish analyzed the huge load
have a great day my freind
