Banner Ads | Forum

I'm planning adding some banner ads for some other site, both my own and external. I have a script that will manage that for me.

However, I'm at a loss at the moment as to how to add them.

Is there one common file that I can mod that will show them in all themes, or do I have to add the code to each theme individually?

I'd be using a php include or an iFrame to bring the ads up.

Any help on this would be much appreciated.

Immensely. That does exactly what my other script does. Its now installed, tested, and working.

Thanks Chris.

Not so fast, it hasnt.

When installed, and I go to edit my test profile, as soon as I try to click save, it opens any link thats on the page, even with no banner sited at the bottom of the page.

Its strange, as even when nowhere near the button, my cursor shows its clickable.

I'll have to contact the plugin writer and see if he/she can help with this.

Check it's not something in the banner code that's having a strange effect. I just installed it on my site to test it, and it functions OK.
Most plugins are only tested with the default theme, maybe your theme and plugin aren't playing nicely? Try changing to the default theme temporarily to see if it is the same.

Its the same in all themes.

The only plugin that shows on that page is the member map. But with that deactivated, the problem is still there.

Even with all the attributes (height, width, alignment and target) in the code stripped out, the problem is still there.

It also breaks the contact us page.

No replies on their support area either, which isn't helping. I'll wait a little longer, then scrap it

Hi Gerry!

If you read the description of that plugin, it says you need this other plugin installed too:

Did you installed that plugin too? If not, please install it.

If the issue persists, open the website with google chrome, open the Google Chrome's developer console and take a screenshot of the errors that are displaying in there, that way we can tell you what may be wrong.

No idea what on earth is wrong with what will be the live site.

I've deactivated all plugins and 3rd party themes, but no change.

This is something I've no experience of. How would I know what to screenshot?

That's strange, I installed it on my site to test it for the OP, I haven't got the Geo IP plugin installed, but the banner add plugin still worked OK.

I never did find out what the issue was.

As the site was pre-launch, I started over. A bit of extra work, but all working so far.
