The only thing that worked for me was using the local suggestion.

/usr/local/bin/php /home/site/public_html/ow_cron/run.php

Make sure that you correct the line to fit your installation

Steve

Can someone tell me how to do this?  I updated to 1.5.2 and then it said I still need to update the cron job.  I have no idea what this is, where it is located, how to do it, or anything.  I am completely new to all of this.  Can anyone please explain this from the ground up for a newbie?  Thank you!

Ok.

LeAnn Jones, did you used to have your CRON set in previous version? Check this topic: http://www.oxwall.org/forum/topic/8877

/usr/local/bin/php /home/site/public_html/ow_cron/run.php is for the cPanel cron setup

Thanks Steve.

Note that command posted by Steve might not work, since it all depends where Oxwall is installed. To find out your path you need to follow instructions given under "Run Cron Locally" section of this manual: http://docs.oxwall.org/install:cron . To do so you need SSH access details and any SSH client.

Hi Aliia,

While it may be easier to do it with SSH, you don't really need SSH to figure out your paths...

For people with Cpanel, you can go to the Cpanel file manager to figure out the 2 paths needed... I did it this way and now everything is back to normal.

I'm really curious to know why, since the update, the local cron job work and not the HTTP one...

Thanks

Mario

My cron is not set at all I don't think.  It is blank.  I have no idea how to set it up either.  I don't know if I do everything from my site or do I have to go to the site that hosts me or what?

Aliia, i tried CPanel/editing the cron/run.php (1 * * * */usr/local/bin/php /home/"NAME"/public_html/ow_cron/run.php), but the warning is still on. I think that new update has an issue with CRON.

Quote from Dave S I don't understand....Rahul, can you please tell me how you fixed it?

first of all activate SSH access.

download a SSH client ,what i used is "winSCP" its free .

install it then run this software on your computer

it will ask for host ,username and password

your host name will me your website adresss like xxx.com

port will be default

username is ur cpanel username, password will be ur login password of your hosting ,

now login and read rest line here carefully ,i will try to simplify it

if you have less knowledge of commands just do it..

1. in enter command use dir then click on execute

you will see something like that..

/home3/yourmate$ diraccess-logs  index.phpmail   public_ftp   ruby  tmp  wwwetc     logsperl5  public_html  ssl   webalizer.conf

2. now use command  cd public_html andclick on execute

3. now use command cd ow_cron and click on execute

4. now use command pwd (to know the path )

you will see like

 /home3/your.user.name/public_html/ow_cron (lets say it x )

copy it on notepad

5. now you have to know your php Version

use command which php

you will get like /usr/bin/php   ( lets say it y)

copy it on notepad as well.

now go on cpanel where you set cron jobs

click on create cron ,then make it run per minute

and

in command area write y(value of y)  x(value of x)/run.php there will be a space between x and y .

so it will be /usr/bin/php /home3/your.user.name/public_html/ow_cron/run.php

there will be a space between php & /home********

note :- don't copy & paste this code  you have to use SSH client to get your addresses & location.. it will be differ for everyone as allia said  .

hope this help to all
