Ok. so, I got an error on upload. No watermarking on the photo I tested.
Also, the preview in the admin shows the text, but not the overall PNG pattern I uploaded (which I've attached).

You have to enable the option "Start Watermarking" in the main plugin configuration to enable the watermarking for all the users in the front end.
What happens if you change the watermark png image for another?

I had "Start Watermarking" checked.
I changed the image to one that is about 2400x2400, from 4000x4000. It's working now. I'm concerned about the watermarking on larger images, though. Does it watermark after the image is resized? Or...?

When the picture is uploaded, the Photos plugin handles the photo resizing and make 3 new files: original (1960px), main (960px), preview(400px). After that, this plugin applies the watermark in that resized files.
You will not have any problem if your watermark image is 1960px * 1960px, if you get any other issue, please let me know and I will answer asap.
