Ross the Platform update completely errored on my site | Forum

well i ran out of ideas. The only thing I can think of is these files for the update are incomplete.

Guys, I just successfully updated to 1.8.1, without any problems.

1.unpack update pack

2. change soft_build in the ow_base_config (LOWER IT)

3. run www.domain.com/ow_updates. ;

If that won't work restore your backup and run the manual update again.

i don't have a previous backup that is recent. I only have the one I made after the unsuccessful upgrade

Mine is working, I tried a different database (good thing I had a third one handy).

What file do you mean? (2. change soft_build in the ow_base_config (LOWER IT))

ow_base_config is the table in the database.

Do you have issues with the update ?

I have given it a few tries and these are the steps I took however still suffered from a blank screen and then a 500 error.

1.move theme to oxwall origin

2.disable all third party plugins

3.activate debug mode and turn on maintenance page.

4.make sure I have a back up from 24 hours ago.

5.hit to update platform first (Not plugins or themes)

This leaves me with the blank screen and finally a 500 error

I did try a manual update twice but when I put my url/ow_update after extracting the updated files from oxwalls download page it 500s without even allowing me to perform the update. (I extracted them into public_html where ow_core and all over oxwall folders/files are)

if its say build 123
lower the number to 122
that will fire off oxwall to rerun the update
